Good morning and happy last day of school!  I cannot believe it is already the last day of school already. This year has gone by so fast! Although the last couple of months have been tough for a number of reasons, I am so grateful to have ways in which we were all able to stay connected. We miss everyone, SO much! It was so good to see all of you who were able to make it to the Pickup Parade yesterday, so many of you have grown so much!  Typically on one of our last days of school we have a water day, one of the most fun days of the year! The Ambrose teachers put together a video of how we spent our time playing in the water. How do you play in the water? I cannot wait to see you all during our last class ZOOM call of the year! Grab some blankets and pillows and create a fort! See you all so soon!

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  Today we are celebrating the last week of school with a bubble party! Whether you make your own or have some at your house- join in on the bubble fun.  Don't forget- today is the Pickup Parade at 3pm ! 

It's Tuesday and that means ice cream day! Although we can't all be together to enjoy a frozen treat, watch as the Pine teachers share ice cream with one another from home 😊 Grab a bowl, a spoon, and a scoop of your favorite ice cream!

Hello & good morning!  I can't wait to see you all at our class ZOOM this afternoon 😊 To start off our day today, Ms. Kim is going to read There's a Monster in Your Book!  After reading along with Ms. Kim, try and make your own monster! Using all different kinds of skills, try out this fun activity to create your own monster at home.  What You Will Need:  Watered down paint, food colouring or liquid water colours A container for each colour of paint A spoon for each colour of paint Large sheets of paper Straws – one for each child Permanent markers What to Do:  Start by drawing a few monster features (or other creature, or even people) in the middle of the page with the permanent markers. You need to use permanent markers as water based markers will run when the paint is added, so explain to the kids how to use them carefully and cover your work surface. Make sure you leave enough room around your drawing for the paint. Then

Good morning, everyone!  I don't know about all of you, but this cloudy weather is really making me feel quite tired and a little stir crazy. As much as I love a good thunderstorm or some rain, I also really love being able to be outside in the sunshine. Unfortunately, I don't think that's in the forecast this week. However, Ms. Margie and Toffee found a way to beat these rainy day blues!  This activity is so easy to create just from some materials you may have at home! Ms. Margie was able to use some extra salt she had in her cabinet, but you could use a number of different things to draw in. You could try sand, shaving cream, or even dry rice!  I wonder what letters you can make? Can you try and spell your name? What about drawing a picture?!  If you want to use rice, and have a lot of it to spare, you can even dye the rice! Good morning!  Last week, I had a conversation with a friend from the PM class about learning something new. Over the past couple of weeks he has been telling a few of the Pine teachers about Minecraft and all the different characters, locations, and activities you can do while playing the game. It was so enlightening to hear him talk about something he was really interested in and took the time to teach us something! While staying home, I have found myself wanting to learn something new too, but little did I know I didn't need to look to far! Good morning and happy Monday! Wow, I cannot believe we only have two weeks left of school! It is crazy to think about all of the ways in which we have been able to stay connected while we continue to practice social distancing and shelter in place. It is pretty amazing to see the ways in which we can all share with one another, even though we all staying home. It's quite comforting!  Over the last few weeks, I have been trying to do things that bring me comfort. One of my favorite down time activities is reading! The book today is one of my favorites we have read in the Pine room. As we head into this new week, Ms. Kari and Ms. Julie will read Go Away Big Green Monster and show you how your children can draw as they go along! 

Happy Thursday!  Today, Ms. Kim, is going to show you another way in which you can use the monster footprints you may have made from today's plans. The original game outlined requires different kinds of monster feet cut out from construction paper. With those feet, you can lay them out around an open space (indoor or outdoor) and play a follow the leader game. To take it up a notch, see how Ms. Kim uses her monster feet cut outs to play a game of hopscotch!  We can't wait to see all of you who are able to join us on our class ZOOM call at 10! 

Hello & good morning!  One thing I miss about being at school is being able to go to the kitchen and make something. While our class primarily focused on making things like playdoh or gak in the kitchen, we were definitely interested in making food we could eat too!  Through pictures on the Google Photos folder and one's I have been sent directly, it is evident a lot of you are helping your families cook at home! Whether it's pretend or real, it is so cool to see such interest in helping out in the kitchen, way to go 😊 There are so many different skills kids can practice while in the kitchen with their family. Not only are there countless math opportunities,  but also language, literacy, social/emotional, and even physical ones too! Hi everyone! Last Tuesday, you had the opportunity to take a virtual tour with Ms. Liz through a forest near her house. We got to see pictures of the what she found and even got to take a deeper look at what else we saw other than nature itself. It had me thinking... how can we preserve the cool things we find in nature?  At school we often go on walks in which the kids LOVE to pick up various sticks, leaves, flowers, etc. When we get back to the classroom we sometimes lay them out and observe our findings with as many senses as we can. After a few days though, some of the nature findings become brown, or leaves turn crunchy, or even flowers shrinking in size and becoming too tiny to really explore.  In order to try and preserve some of the natural materials, I wonder if you can make clay to try and captivate the natural world in another way? Good morning and welcome to a new week! I hope you were all able to enjoy the weekend. As we head into the last three weeks of school, it makes me think of how we would typically spend our days at Ambrose. This time of the year we are outside as often as possible- participating in water day, taking walks to different parks or outdoor spaces in Webster, and just playing out on the playscape.  Although it might be a bit cloudy today, I wonder if there is a way to spend some time outside today.  Can you create a zoo in your own home or backyard?
