Wait a second, it's not Monday, it's Tuesday! I hope you all stayed warm and had a fun surprise day off! I am excited to report that our friends jumped right back in today with smiles and remembered the expectations and routines of the Pine room. We continue to practice our magic word PUT and our good question word WHERE throughout out play. We explored oats and animals in the sensory table, making conversation about what it feels like, looks like, smells like, etc. We found hidden animal puzzle pieces and PUT them in the right place. We continued our pet shop/veterinarian imaginary play where we discussed how to care of animals and what supplies animals need. Since we finished making our dog house we worked on making collars for our pets! Some friends came up with names for the pets as well.
Happy Tuesday! I hope you enjoyed your extra long weekend together but glad to see you all today. We changed out our word of the week, ask your kiddo if they remember what it is (PUT). At centers we continued exploring small world and our bakery. We opened the sensory table again and some faux snow and polar animals which was a big hit! We also changed out our gross motor center, changing out our obstacle course (crawl through tunnel, jump 10 times on the trampoline, and (steam)roll or summersault on the mat) for some thing new. Ask your kiddo if they tried to scoop the snowball, carry it across the balance beam and PUT it on the snowman.
