welcome week 17

Hello Pine Family! It is the countdown to winter break and lots of holiday festivities for families! We are hoping and wishing and crossing our fingers for all to stay healthy. We did have some friends out and we wished them well. If there is something families would like to help work on at home, especially this time of year, it would be caring for runny noses. We are doing our best to keep up with them at school but please note there will be some extra hand washing with noses being wiped with hands which can lead to dry and chapped skin. But besides all the self care help going on we are also focusing on new words MAKE and DO. Our friends have been sharing ideas of what they would like to learn and/or play with at school. This week we are exploring playdough, marble run, and camping.

*Update on Family Fun-In: We would like to invite families in on Tuesday Dec 20th during drop off time at 8:15. We encourage you to come on in, watch your kiddo independently complete their arrival routine like pros and then sit for a special activity with them. We will have to say good-bye @ 8:45 as we transition to the gym for our indoor gross motor time. This may be hard for some of our friends but have no fear, teachers will dry tears and give lots of love to those that need it.

We want to do some fun dress up days that week as well, we will let you know what those are soon!

Submarine Update

"We should make it yellow too." "It also needs a telescope (periscope)." Now that the drawing phase was complete, some friends wandered over to then build a submarine out of the blocks. They worked purposefully and explained the different parts as they worked.  "We need to cut out a circle for it to be the telescope." B, V, & E continued to work with one another and make compromises throughout their building in order to make the best version of a submarine as they could.  The three finished building their submarine, but noticed something was missing.  "It needs a propeller so it can move!" How could they make a propeller? What does a propeller look like? The kids got to work on some research about wh...
