Weeeeeeek 11!

 Happy Halloween!!!! We had a spooktacular day today with so many fun adventures! We decided to stay inside on this wet day and explored the Collaboratory. At our group time we used our 5 senses to explore a pumpkin. Some friends were brave enough to touch the slimy insides! I wanted to let the kiddos make all the decisions about what our Jack-o-Lantern should look like. They made suggestions for what shapes and how many to make the face of the pumpkin. We then voted: 2 circles for eyes, 1 triangle for a nose, and 1 smile with teeth! Our group time gave us plenty of opportunities to use our magic words LOOK and SEE. For centers: we played in our haunted house where we practiced trick or treating for tonight; scooped and poured in our sensory table while discussing which pumpkins were real and which were not real/fake; at our creation station we painted pumpkins we brought in or helped to paint our big classroom jack-o-lantern!
