Friendship week continues

Happy Tuesday! We celebrated friendship again today making a special project together. Today we began a new check in routine. Ask your kiddo what shape they had to write their name on to hang on the tree. We continued to practice our new magic words OPEN and CLOSE and our question word WHAT? Our new centers seem to bring smiles to our friends faces. Ms. Julie came to play and brought a fun fine motor activity- ask your kiddo what they did! At group time we learned some new songs that use our magic words. For gross motor time we tried to go to the Art Atelier but unfortunately had to change plans and went out to the playscape, sorry for the mud :( For snack orange must be the color of the day because we had Goldfish and orange slices. To end our day we read the book Fill a Bucket: A Guide to Daily Happiness for Young Children by Carol McCloud and Katherine Martin, M.A. We discussed that everyone has a special, invisible bucket inside them and that by giving/receiving kindness they fill buckets. A full bucket makes us feel happy. Our challenge as a class is to work together to fill a real bucket at school by displaying kindness. When we fill our bucket, we will have a special surprise!!

They worked purposefully and explained the different parts as they worked.  "We need to cut out a circle for it to be the telescope." B, V, & E continued to work with one another and make compromises throughout their building in order to make the best version of a submarine as they could.  The three finished building their submarine, but noticed something was missing.  "It needs a propeller so it can move!" How could they make a propeller? What does a propeller look like? The kids got to work on some research about wh...
