Hello Pine friends, we are celebrating the last day of the month of January. We are continuing with our magic words IN and OUT and our good question word WHO? For arrival activities we are still sorting foods by color and putting them IN the correct spot, Potato Heads and putting body parts IN, and playdough and putting pegs IN. Our centers changed this week: Social skills table activity is the game Pop the Pig. We rolled the color cube, identified the color, found a hamburger that matches the color on the cube, looked at the bottom of the burger and read the number. We then put the burger IN the pigs mouth and had to push his head the number of times on the burger. Ask your kiddo what happened when we pushed the pig! For our motor center at the carpet we put snowballs in the snowman but this week we had really work hard. We had to balance on a rocker board reach across our body, use the claw and squeeze to grab the snowball and turn and put the snowball IN the snowman. In our common area we played a matching rhymes game with our story pieces from The Mitten book on the light table. We also had the wind tunnel to put things IN and watch them come OUT. For group, Ms. Kari came to play! Gross motor time was spent having fun with friends in the gym.
Happy Tuesday! I hope you enjoyed your extra long weekend together but glad to see you all today. We changed out our word of the week, ask your kiddo if they remember what it is (PUT). At centers we continued exploring small world and our bakery. We opened the sensory table again and some faux snow and polar animals which was a big hit! We also changed out our gross motor center, changing out our obstacle course (crawl through tunnel, jump 10 times on the trampoline, and (steam)roll or summersault on the mat) for some thing new. Ask your kiddo if they tried to scoop the snowball, carry it across the balance beam and PUT it on the snowman.
