We Went Walking

On this morning's walk the boys talked about SO many things they saw as we made our way around the neighborhood. This time of the year is great because we get to see so many beautiful colors, and to today's surprise, a bunch of people right outside our door doing some work on the road. Needless to say, the boys were thrilled with our long walk around the block.

"Look look!" W yelled as he ran his hands across the bush. The other boys gathered around and started feeling it too.
"Ouch!" B yelled as he he did not like the feeling of it.

As we turned to continued on our walk J's eyes got huge as he exclaimed,"A flower!"
W shared in his excitement, "A flower, look! Hey a flower!"

As we made our way down the first stretch of the block, the boys noticed lots of big trucks coming our way.
"Oh no! A big truck!"
I wonder where it was going? We continued on.

It wasn't before long that W and T were staring down at the sidewalk checking on the ants that were below our feet.

Our walk was filled with lots of good language and overall a lot of excitement about what was going on. We were finally coming up on the main event... new pavement and the many large trucks making their way down the street.

The boys watched in awe as the steam roller came by and smoothed out the newly made asphalt. We could feel the heat from it as well as here the sizzling water cool down as we walked past and waved goodbye.

Such an exciting morning!

Week 2 Day 2

Pine Family is rocking and rolling in week 2! We are having less feelings of sad, mad, and scared upon entering class and more happy and fun throughout the day!  Friendly reminders: Water bottles should only come to school filled with water (it's the best for our bodies and in case another student would accidently take a sip it won't cause harm), sunscreen should be applied before drop off (there is not a lot of shade and not a lot of time for us to get the kiddos all lathered up), and bug spray should be applied before drop off (this is mostly needed when we start going to the forest on Tuesdays, starting on Sept 12th). Thanks :)

Ms Amy always has fun practicing speech and language! Our friends had lots of opportunities for different kinds of movement.
