Glowing Cups

Happy Tuesday! This morning the boys really surprised us when they all immediately gravitated towards the light table in the corner of the room. This isn't a permanent piece of furniture in our room so it was even more exciting when the soft glow of the table lit up a corner of the room. The boys all gathered around and began passing around the different stackable pieces.

As the boys separated the stack and handed them to one another, they noticed the light passing through the translucent plastic.

"Yellow!" B shouted.

"Blue! Pink!" J followed.

The boys started naming the colors as they put each piece in and out, up and down, and lining them up across the table. L & A would wander in and out of the play, but were fascinated by the neon colors that would appear through the cups. If one boy dropped a piece, another would pick it up to continue play. When someone didn't have a cup someone made sure they were involved in the play too.

It was great to see the boys get excited about an activity we haven't played with in awhile. Quite a surprise!

Week 2 Day 2

Pine Family is rocking and rolling in week 2! We are having less feelings of sad, mad, and scared upon entering class and more happy and fun throughout the day!  Friendly reminders: Water bottles should only come to school filled with water (it's the best for our bodies and in case another student would accidently take a sip it won't cause harm), sunscreen should be applied before drop off (there is not a lot of shade and not a lot of time for us to get the kiddos all lathered up), and bug spray should be applied before drop off (this is mostly needed when we start going to the forest on Tuesdays, starting on Sept 12th). Thanks :)

Happy First Day of School 24-25!

Welcome Pine Families to our 24-25 school year! We were so happy to have your kiddos with us today. Check out the fun we had :)

Day 2 Pine room fun!

Today we spent more time getting to know each other and exploring our spaces. For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.
