Stuck on the Ceiling

This morning started off quite interesting. All week the boys have had the opportunity to play with the wind tunnel set up on our large carpet we typically use for our morning meetings. This is by far one of the more engaging activities because it provides a multitude of excitement and entertainment for everyone! Today though, we had a bit of a problem that everyone got involved in. One of the pieces of brightly colored cellophane was stuck on the ceiling!

B was the first to notice.

"Up!" He exclaimed as he got up onto his tippy toes and pointed towards the ceiling. We all turned and gazed upwards. There was the yellow piece of crinkly paper stuck to the ceiling tile. For the next few minutes every kid made it their mission to get the cellophane off the ceiling!

There were a variety of different tactics we tried: jumping, getting on our tippy toes, putting more scarves and cellophane in the tunnel, and lastly just yelling at it. It wasn't until the plug was accidentally pulled out of the wall and the fan stopped that the paper gently fell to the floor. Accidental success!

It was so fun to see everyone engaged in problem solving. There were lots of laughs and lots of yelling. Happy Thursday!

Welcome back

Happy Tuesday! I hope you enjoyed your extra long weekend together but glad to see you all today. We changed out our word of the week, ask your kiddo if they remember what it is (PUT). At centers we continued exploring small world and our bakery. We opened the sensory table again and some faux snow and polar animals which was a big hit! We also changed out our gross motor center, changing out our obstacle course (crawl through tunnel, jump 10 times on the trampoline, and (steam)roll or summersault on the mat) for some thing new. Ask your kiddo if they tried to scoop the snowball, carry it across the balance beam and PUT it on the snowman.

Week 2 Day 2

Pine Family is rocking and rolling in week 2! We are having less feelings of sad, mad, and scared upon entering class and more happy and fun throughout the day!  Friendly reminders: Water bottles should only come to school filled with water (it's the best for our bodies and in case another student would accidently take a sip it won't cause harm), sunscreen should be applied before drop off (there is not a lot of shade and not a lot of time for us to get the kiddos all lathered up), and bug spray should be applied before drop off (this is mostly needed when we start going to the forest on Tuesdays, starting on Sept 12th). Thanks :)

so close now....

Can you believe that we only have one more day together this school year? Today we celebrated the second to last day with a summer bday celebration. We also revealed our tie dyed shirts! (we only did a light rinse, beware that colors will run when you wash!!) TOMORROW: WATER DAY! You need to wear your suit, water friendly shoes, sunscreen already applied, water bottle, towel and dry clothes to change into!
