Ball Wall Bonanza

Oh I am so happy to see everyone after so may days of being off! It was the perfect day to stay inside and get back into the swing of things. We had the opportunity to spend part of our morning in the collboratory (motor room)! The boys started off great and really stayed engaged with the ball wall in particular. It was a hotspot for fun!

B got it started as he began putting together multiple different tunnel pieces together to make a long tube for the ball to roll down.

B noticed there was a small barrier in his original design. The ball kept getting stuck! He was puzzled as he patiently waited for the ball to come out the other end. Nothing. Instead of getting upset, he decided to take the whole thing apart and use just once piece, his favorite!

This then inspired T to come over and play too!

T also grabbed some new pieces and began adding them to create a larger ball track. I love seeing this simple form of imitation during play! The two boys used some problem solving skills to do exactly what they wanted to do.

Stay safe out there!

Submarine Update

Yesterday the Pine friends continued their exploration on how to create a submarine out of a box. They first started drawing sketches of how it should look.  "It needs to have windows!" "We should make it yellow too." "It also needs a telescope (periscope)." Now that the drawing phase was complete, some friends wandered over to then build a submarine out of the blocks. They worked purposefully and explained the different parts as they worked.  "We need to cut out a circle for it to be the telescope." B, V, & E continued to work with one another and make compromises throughout their building in order to make the best version of a submarine as they could.  The three finished building their submarine, but noticed something was missing.  "It needs a propeller so it can move!" How could they make a propeller? What does a propeller look like? The kids got to work on some research about wh...

Happy March

Pine Family, welcome to March! It was an eventful day for us with Ms. Julie coming to visit for center time, a tornado drill, a birthday, and met a new friend Oliver! Of course we practiced our new words put and where. We also made sure to enjoy the gorgeous weather today by pulling on some boots and stomping in the mud. To end our wonderful Tuesday we wished Logan a very happy 5th birthday!

1st Day fun!!!!

Welcome to the Pine AM Family! Our first day together was so exciting as well all got to know each other and explore our environment. You should be very proud of your kiddos! Stay tuned for a "Meet My Friends" paper to help you learn about everyone in our class :)  *My goal with the blog is to have a more lengthy description on Mondays (first day of the week) to give you information on what we topics, skills, items, etc. that we are exploring. I may not always have a narrative on the following days but will post pictures. (Please understand that if I, Ms. Carrie, am absent, pictures will not be posted.)
