Taking Turns

Welcome back to a new week of school! This morning we spent our time with the Dogwood class playing up by the swings. It took some time for all of the boys to find something of interest to settle in, but once they found the swing it was good times all around. M & H were sitting on the swing when N walked up. He looked and saw that there weren't any spots open for him to sit. N walked around to the back of the swing and started to push the boys instead of trying to squeeze on. The boys all giggled as N pushed the swing back and forth.

M & H noticed immediately when N stopped pushing.
"Hey, it stopped!"
N looked at the two of them and said "my turn."
The boys scooted over to make some room for their friend.

"Who is going to push?"
Uh oh, now that all three boys were sitting on the swing there was nobody to push! The swing hung motionless as the three boys looked around. After about a minute, H popped up.
"Oh! I'll push!"

From then on, the boys took turns pushing each other on the swing. It was a calming scene as the all three boys took tuns, enjoyed the nice breezy weather, and took everything in.

It's so good to see these little moments happen throughout the day. So proud of those boys!

Welcome back

Happy Tuesday! I hope you enjoyed your extra long weekend together but glad to see you all today. We changed out our word of the week, ask your kiddo if they remember what it is (PUT). At centers we continued exploring small world and our bakery. We opened the sensory table again and some faux snow and polar animals which was a big hit! We also changed out our gross motor center, changing out our obstacle course (crawl through tunnel, jump 10 times on the trampoline, and (steam)roll or summersault on the mat) for some thing new. Ask your kiddo if they tried to scoop the snowball, carry it across the balance beam and PUT it on the snowman.

Week 2 Day 2

Pine Family is rocking and rolling in week 2! We are having less feelings of sad, mad, and scared upon entering class and more happy and fun throughout the day!  Friendly reminders: Water bottles should only come to school filled with water (it's the best for our bodies and in case another student would accidently take a sip it won't cause harm), sunscreen should be applied before drop off (there is not a lot of shade and not a lot of time for us to get the kiddos all lathered up), and bug spray should be applied before drop off (this is mostly needed when we start going to the forest on Tuesdays, starting on Sept 12th). Thanks :)

so close now....

Can you believe that we only have one more day together this school year? Today we celebrated the second to last day with a summer bday celebration. We also revealed our tie dyed shirts! (we only did a light rinse, beware that colors will run when you wash!!) TOMORROW: WATER DAY! You need to wear your suit, water friendly shoes, sunscreen already applied, water bottle, towel and dry clothes to change into!
