Exploring the Snail

We made it through our first week! The boys have really started to acclimate to the classroom and the various materials we have access to. Both N & L have similar interests which has made the play both inside and outside of the classroom quite fun! Today was our day to play on the snail side of the hillside. Each boy took some time to look at it a little closer and climb on top of it!

L started off browsing the lower half. He would run his fingers along the exterior of the snail feeling every bump and smooth tile that covers it.

As he looked at the colors, he would then gaze back at me and point to the different colors. As we walked around the snail, L became much more interested in the tail. It was full of colors!

With a little bit a help, L was able to get up onto the tail of the snail and see some of the colors a little better. He was really seeming to enjoy the texture of the snail and the mosaic of colors.

N had another plan for his snail exploration. In the video below you can see how he attempts to climb up on the head of the snail, no luck. But! Nathan continued to walk around the snail and saw the tail and realized he could climb up that way!

Both boys enjoyed their time climbing and looking at the snail today. They have both become increasingly better problem solvers over the last few days, way to go!

It was a Ms Amy day!

Happy Wednesday

How lucky are we that it was nice weather which allowed for much needed outside time!

Happy New Year!

Hello Pine AM friends! It is so nice to see you guys again after 20 days! I hope everyone enjoyed the time off and maybe even a little fun in the snow. Today we only had 2 kiddos come to school which felt so strange but we made the best of it. We will be ready to fully jump back in the swing of things next week with new words IN and OUT, exploring our expanded Bakery and Cafe in our dramatic play area, reading stories about winter and hands on experiences with things that are cold.
