Hard Goodbyes

Good morning and happy Thursday! While we are spending so much time at home and making sure we stay healthy and safe, things over at Ambrose have been busy. This week, the Pine teachers had to say a tough "goodbye" to our little classroom. We worked in shifts to maintain safe social distancing with one another, but at the same time worked seamlessly as one person picked up where the last left off.

This photo was taken at the very beginning of the year. Just days before you all walked in for the very first time. Every block, pencil, marker, and other learning material had a place. The chairs waited for you all to climb into, the tables expected to be used for various projects, and the big carpet anticipated all of us gathering together as a class for meetings at the beginning and end of each day.

Thinking about all of this while cleaning made me feel quite sad and happy at the same time. I am so grateful to have spent this year with all of you and the many personalities you brought. We shared a lot of laughs, learned so much that you may not even realize, and only cried a little. There are so many good memories, I couldn't resist posting a few of my favorite from our time spent in this little classroom. Please enjoy!

This photo was taken yesterday. Our little room has changed SO much over the last 8ish months. We moved furniture around, taken things out, added new friends, some friends moved, and the list goes on and on, but ultimately we stayed as a school family in an ever changing environment. Yesterday, was the last day we will see the Pine room for this school year. Although it makes me a little sad, it also makes me happy to have spent such good times with all of you. Please know that we all love and miss you guys SO much.

Week 2 Day 2

Pine Family is rocking and rolling in week 2! We are having less feelings of sad, mad, and scared upon entering class and more happy and fun throughout the day!  Friendly reminders: Water bottles should only come to school filled with water (it's the best for our bodies and in case another student would accidently take a sip it won't cause harm), sunscreen should be applied before drop off (there is not a lot of shade and not a lot of time for us to get the kiddos all lathered up), and bug spray should be applied before drop off (this is mostly needed when we start going to the forest on Tuesdays, starting on Sept 12th). Thanks :)

Welcome back

Happy Tuesday! I hope you enjoyed your extra long weekend together but glad to see you all today. We changed out our word of the week, ask your kiddo if they remember what it is (PUT). At centers we continued exploring small world and our bakery. We opened the sensory table again and some faux snow and polar animals which was a big hit! We also changed out our gross motor center, changing out our obstacle course (crawl through tunnel, jump 10 times on the trampoline, and (steam)roll or summersault on the mat) for some thing new. Ask your kiddo if they tried to scoop the snowball, carry it across the balance beam and PUT it on the snowman.

Happy Monday!

Today was a special day in Pine room. Our friend Ari had a birthday on Thurs Nov 30, but unfortunately was out sick, so we had the celebration today! He chose a PJ day, was the special helper during circle time, our music master during music and movement, and shared his favorite book Creepy Carrots ! Some friends made him special birthday cards on Thursday to give him today as well. Finally, Ari decorated his special (birth)day canvas which is hanging in the hallway. Friends could also check out some fun pictures of him hanging on our Special Day board in the classroom.  This week we are continuing with the words IN and OUT with music, stories, and play. We are exploring Space Art, leaves in the wind tunnel, small world, baby dolls, and roads and cars.
