"It's Like the Arch in St. Louis!"

Moving the blocks out into the shared space has been beneficial in so many ways for the kids. Not only do they have more space to build, but they also  have access to different materials to build with. Today, E found a curved piece of wood she referred to as "the arch." V saw the familiar shape and excitedly yelled, " It's like the Arch in St. Louis!"

B ran over to the girls and wanted to help them build too.
"We should try and make the arch."
"It needs to be taller."
"Yeah, we need these blocks and make sure it is sturdy so it doesn't fall over."
They got to work.

After many different attempts to build the arch, E & B ended up finding something different to build, but V stuck with it for a few more seconds trying to figure out how to make the arch balance. Although V was unsuccessful in her attempts to create the arch, she still continued to try and create a sturdy base for the curved piece to rest on. The kids seem to really enjoy our block area being moved, their work is continuing to be purposeful and collaborative.

Week 2 Day 2

Pine Family is rocking and rolling in week 2! We are having less feelings of sad, mad, and scared upon entering class and more happy and fun throughout the day!  Friendly reminders: Water bottles should only come to school filled with water (it's the best for our bodies and in case another student would accidently take a sip it won't cause harm), sunscreen should be applied before drop off (there is not a lot of shade and not a lot of time for us to get the kiddos all lathered up), and bug spray should be applied before drop off (this is mostly needed when we start going to the forest on Tuesdays, starting on Sept 12th). Thanks :)

Happy First Day of School 24-25!

Welcome Pine Families to our 24-25 school year! We were so happy to have your kiddos with us today. Check out the fun we had :)

Day 2 Pine room fun!

Today we spent more time getting to know each other and exploring our spaces. For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.
