All of the Colors

C began the later part of his day experimenting with different colors. He looked up at the hanging apparatus in awe.

"What do we do with this? Can I try?"

Moments later C knew exactly what to do as he stood back and sprayed the colored water onto the white canvas.

"WOW! I am making all of the colors!"

"It's really wet, and dripping everywhere. I see lots of dots too."

As C continued to spray the water colors onto the saturated shirt, he would inspect the details very close then with force squirt the bottle several times in a row. He would announce the colors he saw excitedly and stand back proudly at his creation. Once most of the white shirt was covered he looked into the box collecting the colors below.

"I am going to put it in here. I can see all of the colors."

After a few tries, C started turning the bottle.

"This ones not working. It's probably not working because it's big out."

C was onto something when he realized the bottle stopped squirting when he turned it to one side. He explained that it wasn't working because there simply was not enough colored water in the bottle.

Moments later he tried a different color with more water in it.

"This one works!"

C worked very hard on attempting to produce as much color as he could. He continued to twist the bottle and experimenting on which colors "worked" and which ones did not. He was quick to drop the bottles that did not squirt any color when he turned them on their sides.

A lot of friends joined in as C continued to spray the shirt all of the different colors. They, too, experimented in turning the bottles different directions to try and get the color out.

Submarine Update

Yesterday the Pine friends continued their exploration on how to create a submarine out of a box. They first started drawing sketches of how it should look.  "It needs to have windows!" "We should make it yellow too." "It also needs a telescope (periscope)." Now that the drawing phase was complete, some friends wandered over to then build a submarine out of the blocks. They worked purposefully and explained the different parts as they worked.  "We need to cut out a circle for it to be the telescope." B, V, & E continued to work with one another and make compromises throughout their building in order to make the best version of a submarine as they could.  The three finished building their submarine, but noticed something was missing.  "It needs a propeller so it can move!" How could they make a propeller? What does a propeller look like? The kids got to work on some research about wh...
